Summery:Workplace justice affects immigration policy because of supply and demand or in other words productivity. Today most of our sectors in economy are relied on exploited immigrant workers, particularly undocumented workers. Historically, labor and immigration policies came out naturally by the constant demand of fairness by the low-wage workers which was started by Cesar Chavez 50 years ago and an affirmative response from the larger society. Throughout our shared history, we are slowly progressing towards labor fairness and improvement of labor practices for the working families. In spite of the improvement to become a more equitable society than ever before, new problems still arise. We still need more laws and reforms directed toward the employers and international contractors. These laws and reforms will protect immigrant workers and the undocumented workers as well as to prevent labor trafficking. These laws and reforms will also develop "free trade" and "fair trade" thereby producing free flow of goods and production. As we celebrate labor day, we should remember the plight of the working people which was started by Cesar Chavez. The plight and struggle for workplace fairness. This will ultimately shape our society for the better or worse.
Connection : This connects to our immigration unit because it shows us we need more laws that helps everybody and make sure everyone is safe from the injustice for exploiting workers. Also help solve immigration problems.
