Trump supporters court Jewish settlers in the West Bank

Summary: Donald Trump has set a campaign in North West Bank, Jerusalem for American immigrants to support him. The office is served to get Americans who live outside of their country to register to vote.  It is believed to be the first time a republican or democrat placed a campaign office in Jerusalem, or to be more specific the West Bank. There is an estimated count of 300,000 Americans living in Israel.  There are so many people in Israel that believe Trump would be excellent for Israel. Donald Trump’s opponent, Hillary also tried reaching out to the the Israelis by having an interview with the country’s largest TV station broadcast show. She said,  "I know the Republicans are investing very heavily in this ... but I don't think they are going to get the results they want," he said. "I think they will be disappointed today, partially because of the unattractiveness of their candidate."

Connection: This connects to our unit because in the american dream immigrants wanted to come here to america to have better life. Now people in Israel are voting for a president in america to have a better life without immigrating.

Discussion Questions: Do you think this will have an impact for Trump? Is there more that Trump is trying to do? Would it be advantageous to have other campaigns in other countries where Americans live?

  3. I also agree that Donald Trump his dumb, but it was a good idea to reach out to Israel for more votes.

  4. I honestly think that it was a smart move for Trump to reach out to Israel if most of the Americans that live there believe that he will do great as our next president. Despite the new campaign office in Jerusalum it shouldn't change anyone's point of view about him because of the one "smart" idea he has had during the election process. In this case it would be advantageous to have other campaigns in other countries where other Americans live because they could have lived a different way and think differently than we do meaning that everything Trump is offering as president sounds good to them due to the fact that they could be less educated or completely isolated to what happening here in the U.S.. (Why did Trump only open a campaign office in Jerusalem and not any other countries?)
