A ‘Third Track’ To Solve The North Korean Nuclear Threat

Summary:  This was North Korea’s fifth nuclear test and causing havoc on the American National security worried if North Korea would have a nuclear attack. And South Korea agrees with the U.S. and have many Chinese protest. Both candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have talked about the issue and how the American-led economic sanctions weren’t going to be enough to stop the nuclear testing. The American Policy makers should thinking about “third track” which would get rid of the economic sanctions and both North Korea and United Nations would sign a peace treaty. The “third track” would be able to make a North Korea a whole nation and become part of the community of nations. But in order for them to do this would for them to disarm its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. But after realizing this option it would have been too late because North korea would have to give up their weapons or not at all. Because of this the U.S would have to change the conditions but the “the Third track” would be the best option for the U.S.

Connection: This is can be connected to the Cold war when the Soviet Union were testing their nuclear missiles.

Conclusion Question: Do you think north Korea would be capable of launching the nuclear missiles?

  1. Yes, I think that Korea would be able to launch nuclear missiles but there would be a great consequence to that. It may cause war and a lot of chaos. And that would probably not end in their favor.

  9. I also agree with Aaron because although the North is capable of creating Nuclear weapons since this is their fifth time testing, but, as Aaron stated, if the North continues to pursue this act, it will only create worse future situations for the country as many see it as a hazardous, dangerous, and un-predicatable place.

  10. If North Korea continues to receive help from outside nations, it is definitely capable of wreaking havoc. The reason our sanctions have not completely shut them down yet is because other countries are supplying their technology advancements. We should focus our energies on the countries helping North Korea instead of blocking shipments to North Korea.

  12. Yes, they can send nukes but, everyone knows that once a nuclear bomb hits a certain area. that place becomes uninhabitable so if they continue doing what they are doing they'll eventually make where they're bombing uninhabitable, destroying ecosystems and the atmosphere. Furthermore, Countries also might get really worried because launching nuclear missiles is always seen as a certain threat and one wrong move could cause two countries to go to war with each other or worse

  13. I believe that North Korea is very capable in launching nuclear missiles however, if they were to launch missiles against a certain country the other country may have no hesitation to launch back at North Korea.

  14. I believe that North Korea would be able to launch a missile, however, if that happens, I think the UN would be able to try and negotiate so that the missile wouldn't harm others and just use for defensive purposes.
