Summary: In Florida 25,000 voters have not been registered. Luckily, Judge Mark Walker has argued to extend the deadline, because of hurricane Matthew. The reason that was reported for people being unregistered was that they have insufficient information or incorrect addresses. Since the extension, 13,000 more people that were previously unregistered, are registered. This process is still continuing.

Connection: This connects to the current presidential election, the debate videos we were assigned to watch, and our class discussions about the election.

Questions: The situation of people being unregistered and not voting is very prevalent currently. This problem is not just in Florida.

Do you think that every adult should be "required" to vote?

Do you think the citizens that don't vote influence the election?

  1. I don't think citizens would be required to vote because that would be totalitarium like, and that is not the nation we are, But the unregistered people will nt have an impact becuse during these elections it has hasn't been more clear on who shuld win and will win

  2. I don't think that citizens should be required to vote, but it would be better do do so to make the election fair. The registered would have a greater impact on what will happen in the future.

  3. I think that every adult should be required to vote because this is a democracy and what makes our country great is the input from the people. If they don't vote, the whole point of our country diminishes. I think if people dont vote it could affect our elections greatly, as presidents would be chosen randomly, as some years some may vote more than others.

  4. I think that citizens don't have to vote I mean freedom speech in all although it is highly regarded that you do. voting is like indirectly speaking your words on what you want happen. If you don't vote it's fine it's just that if something were to be passed or elected that you didn't like than you can't really complain since you didn't vote so, not voting doesn't effect the polls by much unless a lot of people decide not to vote. which will probably never happen.

  5. I think that every adult shouldn't be required to vote because they all have a choice in this country. If they don't want to vote, they shouldn't be forced to. If the country forces adults to vote, some might not vote truthfully which can affect our country in a non beneficial way.

  6. No, voting is a choice, everyone SHOULD vote, but everyone does not NEED to vote if they don't want to, it is a free country. If you don't vote however, you have no right to complain about politics.

  7. I agree with Anna because every adult shouldn't be required to vote because some people just don't want to vote

  8. I do think that every citizen should be required to vote because I think we need everyone to have a say so that we can all agree on who should our next president be

  9. I don't think anyone should be forced to vote if they don't want to. Nobody should HAVE to, and additionally, if the US makes it a requirement, it could hurt our country because we could potentially have uneducated people voting for what might be the worst for the US.

  10. I do not believe people should be required to vote, because people in the US deserve complete freedom. If you don't vote, it could potentially hurt the country, but sometimes it dose not really matter.

  11. People shouldn't be required to vote because it's morally and mathematically wrong. Forcing people to vote is just wrong as not everybody wants to get into politics, and it will make people who wouldn't end up voting screw with the system.

  12. to be honest I don't think that adults should be required to vote, because personally I don't think either Hillary or Trump are fit to be president. I personally think Bernie should of been are next president. Also, if you require adults to vote it could either end up being a positive effect or a negative one. Negative because some adults might not even take into consideration how it'll effect other people and they'll just think about themselves. Positive because one adults vote could break a tie between the candidates making the one person that everyone wants as president the most.

  13. I do not think that adults should be required but it should just be highly recommended. I also think that the people that do not vote do not help the election because if you are supporting a candidate, how will you actually support them if you do not vote for them.
