Kim Kardashian West in New York with family after Paris Robbery

Original Article: http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/02/entertainment/kanye-west-family-emergency/

Summary:  Kim Kardashian, the reality star was held at gunpoint after a group of men posed as a police and robbed her early Monday at an apartment.  The Paris police apartment said that Kardashians celebrity status, as well as her millions of social media followers, made it easy pickings for thieves.  According to resources, it was really the celebrity who was targeted with possessions that had been posted on her social media.  Kim Kardashian was robbed of a phone and 10 million dollars worth of jewelry that have been posted on her media a few days earlier.  Kardashian is a very active poster on twitter, snap chat, and by posting much of what she had which led to the robbery.

Connection: This connects to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton's debates so far in 2016.  For advertisements and publicity, people post their decisions on social media about how they feel is going on through America.  As Donald Trump sees himself as a rich businessman, advertising how much money one has can cause violence anywhere.  As shown by Kim Kardashian's incident, advertising your possessions and parts of social class can lead to violence.

Questions:  How would we as America be able to stop violence without prohibiting celebrity use of social media?
Do you agree that social media is one of the reasons why America is entitled to so much violence?

  3. Although I promote less violence, I think it is not possible to control violence that is relating to social media. Social media is so important in our society now, and it is so large that we cannot possibly control everything that is shared and viewed. Although we can warn people of behaviors like Kim, I do not believe there is a way to inhibit less violence. I think that social media has an equal causation in violence then any other form. There is no reason that social media is a bigger culprit for violence than conventional ways.

  4. I don't think that we can prevent celebrity's from posting their expensive stuff. We are all responsible for what we post and especially celebrity's have to be very consiucous about it, but overall yea I think that social media is a big factor in why America has so much Violence.

  7. This is a very contriversial move by the Kardasians. They could just stage this to be relevant to society boosting ratings on their shows to gain more money.

  8. I agree with Alex and how we cant stop celebrities on posting pictures showing their wealth on social media. Overall, everyone should be careful about what is being put in public as well as the consequences.

  9. While we cannot stop violence I think we should take more safety precautions, like having video cameras everywhere so they could catch the thief. The Kardashians should be more careful about posting on social media.

  10. I believe that everyone should have the right to do what they want and sometimes it is not their responsibility to hide things so they won`t become victims, however i do think that we can chose what to post but there is also ways we can do to not become the target of victim.
