Supreme court declines to hear immigration cases

Obama's plan was to shield undocumented immigrants from being deported. On the first Monday of October the Supreme Court rejected the idea of saving undocumented immigrants from being deported. Obama tried a few times to help illegal immigrants from being deported and to give them a right to work legally in the U.S. but his plans were disapproved each time. It was considered obamas "biggest legal defeat." This affected about 4 million illegal immigrants who would have been given a right to work in the U.S. and shield of deportation as long as they had not committed any crimes and have a U.S. citizen family member.

This connects to the American dream of many immigrants and also connects to the Chinese Exclusion Act because the Chinese immigrants were not wanted in the U.S., and now all illegal immigrants are not wanted in the U.S. Illegal immigrants were not wanted then and are still not wanted now.

Discussion Questions:
Do you agree with the rejection of this law? Or do you believe this law should be passed?
How would you feel if some of your family members had to face deportation?
How would you feel if YOU had to face deportation because you weren't born here?
