Before being put into office, many of Trump's supporters in California were located in the Central Valley. After being put in office, Trump has not backed down from his desire to ban illegal immigrants from being in the United States. Many California farm owners who supported Trump before are now backing down and fear the loss of their workers. Approximately 70% of farm workers in the US are living here illegally. The removal of illegal immigrants would drastically affect agriculture today. Not being able to pick and sell crops would be a huge loss for the State's (California) economy. California brings in $35 billion a year in crops and provides more of the nation's food than any other state. Farmers who voted for Trump now realize that if the administration were to actually weed out illegal workers, their businesses would cripple.
Illegal immigrants are sometimes looked down on by people. However, illegal immigrants are important when it comes to agriculture. Back in WWII, African Americans and other minorities were looked down on but they helped immensely in the war efforts.
