The Hate Against The Police

Image result for protect the police

Description: Same people accuse the police of doing their duty as some kind of hate crime or there above the law so they must be hated on because they can get away with lying or other things but, why? The police are their to protect and most of them try their best. Police are people as well as anyone else when it comes to certain situation, there just better prepared for it and some expect them to not make mistakes as if they were law machines. A quote by police officer in Eastern Chicago "More police officers are being killed, because they’re hesitating more before pulling the trigger to defend themselves, [Chief Mark] Becker said." Cops are starting to be hesitated to shoot other people when it's needed because they might be ridiculed afterwards for maybe accidently shooting someone else or because their human beings with a conscious.  Another quote says, Law professor and former police officer Seth Stoughton "There are countless variations, but the lessons are the same: Hesitation can be fatal. So officers are trained to shoot before a threat is fully realized, to not wait until the last minute because the last minute may be too late." Every day of a cops life is to protect and serve. There will always be a time when a cop has to make that split second decision to either to take the shot or risk having other people hurt. The police are not perfect, no one is. There will always be rotten police man in the law enforcement unit and the police brutality was always a problem but, don't use that hate to discriminate all police man.

Connection: The connects with well, nothing because whenever something is brought about the police absolutely nothing good about them is presented. Everyone is focused on what the police did bad, but, whenever the police do good it's just pushed off to the side. This has happened in the past and it's happening now.

Question: Do you think that the police are being unappreciated from the past until now?

Should the police have more respect than what they are given?

Is the treatment of the police justified?

  1. I think that police officers will always have some sort of hate towards them whenever it comes to violence. There will always be people out there in the world who are absolutely against violence, so when an officer has to do their duty, which can involve violence, there will be back lash. It also does not help that the media mainly focuses on the bad that police officers do rather than the good that they do. Police officers who do their duty right, which ultimately is going to involve violence at some point, is always going to be ridiculed. But they should be treated with respect because their job is to protect the law and protect the people. And if that means they might have to get rid of one person to save many more, then they're doing the right thing. The fact that all police officers are being put into the category of terrible people is unjustified. Every officer is different for the next, so we should not classify all officers into the same bunch.

  2. I beleive officers are all full of stuff because are they do is abuse their power. I personally am a victim of how the police treat people poorly, ive gotten throw on the ground by them for no reason, ive been handucffed, ive been puled over because they be hating , because im slapping music and getting money they dont agree too. They abuse their power there not here to protect and serve, if they want to protect and serve they can go to the army and realy protect and serve this country becuase they dont serve nothing besides donuts to their mouths and they dont die for this country like our soldiers do.

  3. I personally know several police officers, and can vouch that the majority of police officers are doing their job to help people. People that complain that they are singled out by police should ask themselves what behavior they are doing to warrant being harassed. That being said, there are police officers that do abuse their power, and it is immensely hard to prosecute these rotten individuals, as being friends with prosecutors makes it difficult to even get a case heard. A system needs to be developed to be able to prosecute these individuals justly, while protecting the peace of mind of the cops who are concerned for public safety.

  4. I feel that a lot of police officers are being treated poorly throughout the years because some abuse their power and racial profile many people who end up being injured or killed. But of course, there are some officers that are doing their job which are protecting the people. Especially now, the amount of officers that are racial profiling with evidence from videos they are hurting and abusing many innocent people because of their race or what they look like. Police officers should be respected but not when they are hurting many innocent people.

  5. I do not think that the police are underappreciated because policing is there job. If a plumber comes in a fixes a sink then you shouldn't go out of your way to be thankful for them because they are just doing their job. I think the reason there is so much negative stigma behind the job is because there have been instances (in the past and recently) where the police officer isnt doing their job correctly. The fact of the matter is that there are people who take the position and abuse it, and until there is a way for us to ensure that every police officer is there for the safety of the people, and not just abusing their power then I feel like you have the right to be on your toes and second guess the police.

  6. I think police are being more unappreciated now then they were because more and more people are banning together against them. Police should have more respect for police because they risk their lives to save others. Its their job and the volunteered to do it. It irritates me when people complain, if you complain then do it yourself, its not as easy. No the treatment of police is not justified because they are doing their job.

  7. I feel like Police are being unappreciated now then they were in the past because now a days, if you see someone get pulled over they show them attitude, if you treat the officer with respect, you'll be treated with respect, or if the matter is a bit deeper to them having to ask you to exit the vehicle just comply. Treat others just like how you'd like to be treated. They shouldn't be hated for trying to make the community you live in safer.

  8. I don't think all police are bad people, but many do tend to abuse their power, mostly when it comes to minorities. For example, latinos and african americans are targeted as a whole race, and now that police are being targeted it seems like no one can handle the hate, which is ironic. There's been many articles and videos published proving that some police tend to abuse their power and act violently towards people who follow all directions. I think the police already have enough power and people are already very afraid of them, especially minorities. most of the hate towards police only appears throughout social media instead of being attacked in person. The difference between police here is they take off their uniform, and no one will know who they are and may be treated with "more respect" if you'd say, but african americans can't take off their color, they remain being targeted and unappreciated and can't do anything about it.

  9. Police brutality is a popular subject that now effects society because of the stereotype they have been put under and the label they have been given. It is sad because not all police officers undergo what they have been labeled as. In my opinion those who do not wear the uniforms or hold a gun are doing more to protect citizens than those who wear the uniforms and hold a gun. In my opinion , in a way they abuse the power they possess and unfortunately sometimes and certain law enforcers use it unjustly which is a main reason why they are being treated this way.

  10. i believe police have been looked at differently in the more recent years because of the police brutality that has been going on. However i do not believe all cops are bad, and i do not think all of them should be penalized for the actions of only a piece of them.
