Trumps Cruel Speech on Immagration

Summary:          On Tuesday President Trump gave a speech to talk a little more on the immigration reform. He had given the speech to give a little more insight as to why he's deporting undocumneted people. As he gave his speech he talked about how " we are removing gang members, drug dealers, and criminals that threaten our communities and prey on our innocent citizens".  So far statistics from The Department of Homeland Security and Immigration have shown that the recent ICE raids have removed "removable aliens" who have been convicted of crimes. Not only that but under the authority of Trump, ICE has detained moms, DACA recipients, and victims of domestic abuse.  Trump himself believes that this a " real and positive immigration reform" as long as they want to improve the jobs and wages for Americans. Trump has gone as fair as to threaten and punish cities who do not go through with the plans he has to deport as many people as possible. He also has new plans to create a new office called VOICE that focuses on the crimes committed by undocumented immigrants.

Connection: This connects to how the US was going through the Industrial Revolution and immigrants were pouring in from all over the world, and found at railroads. But moving close to the 1960's there was a higher call on immigration reform.

Questions:
(1) Do you believe Trump is truly improving the US by these Immigration Reforms, and if so why?

(2) If you were in Trumps shoes, what do you think you would do differently as to the way he's dealing with this situation?

(3) Do you agree that " we are removing gang members, drug dealers, and criminals that threaten our communities and prey on our innocent citizens"?

  1. I do not agree that we have been removing gang members, and drug dealers. We probably never will, but in the United sates the majority of drug dealers are cockasian not immigrants, but the deportation law in my opinion this immigrant law will not solve any of this drug and gang related problems

  2. Removing illegal immigrants should not be done. Instead of deporting illegal immigrants, Trump should just focus on border security to keep illegals who aren't already in, out. Removing illegal immigrants would not really help with gang members and drug dealers. They are irrelevant to the illegal immigrant situation.

  3. i think trump is making racial generalizations and is being somewhat racist. some illegals contribute to america's society and economy and it's unfair for him to wrongly stereotype these people.

  4. I think it makes sense for Trump to be removing illegal immigrants who are drug dealers or have criminal records, BUT they should not only focus on immigrants but also on ANYONE who deals with drugs or other criminal records. a criminal is a criminal no matter if they were born here or not. In order to make this a better place all the criminals should be removed, whether its jail or back to their home country. I Dont really agree that Trump is removing "gang members, drug dealers, and criminals" because he is also removing innocent people which is unfair.

  5. No I do not believe that he is making America a better place because these "illegals" have contributed to the making of america over the past century. If I was in his position I would not have to the certain extents that he is putting on.

  6. I do not think that Trump is making America better by wanting to remove "illegals" because these illegal immigrants are not the only drug dealers, gang members, and criminals. He is stereotyping them and not thinking of the rest of the people who contribute to these actions.

  7. Trump is not making America great again because there are other criminals, and illegals aren't the only drug dealers. It is wrong for Trump to be stereotyping these people just because they are immigrants.

  8. I do not think that Trump is making it better by removing "illegals", but a criminal is going to be a criminal no matter what, I really don't agree that Trump is removing all these people. If i were to be in his position i wouldn't be removing innocent people which i think it's very unfair.

  9. I honestly don't agree that we are getting rid of criminals because not all illegal immigrants are criminals. There are so many criminals in the US that are not illegal. Trump is just misusing the definition of criminals.

  10. I do not think Trump is keeping people safe, because the only thing this reform is doing is destroying the principles the US was founded on. If I had to decide what to do with the immigration policy, I would for starters not ban any people from entering the US, because the US still remains the land of opportunity for all. I would increase airport and border security, to ensure the total safety of the US citizens.

  11. I do not believe that Trump is improving the US through these Immigration Reforms because we are a diverse group of people who inevitably make each other better. I could hardly ever see myself in Trumps shoes, but I do believe that I would not be making such decisions based on prejudice against anyone any idea. I do not agree that "we [he] is removing gang members, drug dealers, and criminals that threaten our communities and prey on . . . innocent citizens" because Trump is more on removing people based on a prejudice against specific races.

  12. No, I believe Trump is hurting the US and its image with his immigration laws. Not only is he turning away people in need, but he is sending the message that he thinks we are better than the thousands of people who want to move to America to start a better life. I do not think that this will stop gangs or drug dealers, if anything it will encourage it. I think that stance is just a ruse for Trump's real agenda of trying to keep america as white as he possibly can. If I were in Trump's shoes, I would try to promote a message of equality and hospitality, instead of hatred.

  13. No he is not helping by doing that because there wont be people to work in the fields. We all like strawberries but if there are immigrants being deported then who is going to pick them for us ?? I dont think Trump will

  14. I don't believe that Trump is improving the US because for some immigrants he is ripping apart families and is arresting those who not are not at fault. If I were in his shoes I would choose those who have broke the law more than once not deport them over a traffic ticket. I get that he's trying to make the US a safer place but deporting those who didn't do anything just make people mad which they fight for and sometimes those protests get violent.

  15. I'll be completely honest I think these reforms seems like it has a decent concept but, I think it needs to be reviewed a lot before being sent out. If I was a trump, to be honest I wouldn't know what to do because there's a lot of variables in play that can contradict one another.

  16. I don't believe that Trump is helping to improve the US because he can't just be putting innocent people in jail. I would focus on actual criminals then people that who are not at fault. If I was Trump I honestly wouldn't know what to do because in today's America if you make any statement it's the wrong one.
