Women around the world on strike, or at least on pause, in solidarity

        https://newsela.com/articles/womens-day-strike/id/27859/#

Women around the world stayed home from work, joined rallies or wore red to demonstrate their economic clout on Wednesday March 8th, 2017. In January women's marches drew more than 1 million into the streets after president Donald Trump's inauguration. Wednesday with out a Woman protest in the United States was put together by the organizers of those marches.

This Connects and Wraps up around in the 1950's when women only had to work at home, as a good wife, mother and a diligent homemaker.

Did you participate or joined in any rally for the International Women's Day?
Do you believe women did right on not protesting for a day?
How do you feel towards this post?

  1. Although I did not participate in any rally/protests, I do support those who did and the movement itself. I believe women did the right thing to stand up for their rights and to express their thoughts and emotions and problems. I think it was an overall amazing movement.

  2. I did not participate on Women's Day however, I do support equality for women and feel like women should feel empowered everyday. It is disheartening to know that in 2017 women are still not treated fairly and with respect however, as women are gaining strength and empowerment, we can put an end to injustice.

  7. I did not participate in any rallies or marches on that day but I think that the day women decided to protest was a good message because they wanted to show how important and needed women are in society. People can take women for granted and this day was perfect to show that they are important.

  10. I didn't participate at the women's march but i would have liked to because it would have been a good experience to encounter and to have a voice to show the power that us women have. Honestly women shouldn't be treated differently than men because we are the same human beings and deserve equality.
